The Challenge
Pet adoption involves more than browsing a listing. People also need enough context about each animal, a clear way to express interest, and a community where updates can continue after adoption. PetOpt brings those flows into one mobile experience.
My Role
I designed and built the application experience, structuring the onboarding, authentication, pet discovery, community feed, profiles, and adoption-request flows as a cohesive mobile product.
What I Delivered
- Pet Adoption: Browse profiles of pets that need a home and initiate adoption requests.
- Community Feed: View and share posts, photos, and updates about pets.
- User Profiles: Manage your profile, view your posts, and track your adoption requests.
- Authentication: Secure login and user onboarding.
Key Decisions
One cross-platform product. A shared mobile codebase keeps the adoption and community experience consistent across supported devices while allowing the interface to remain responsive to different screen sizes.
Separate but connected journeys. Pet discovery, community activity, and account management are distinct flows, but they share the same identity and profile model so users do not feel as though they are moving between unrelated tools.
Outcome
The result is a cohesive mobile product project that demonstrates the complete flow from onboarding and discovery through community participation and adoption requests. The source remains available for review on GitHub.
